About your Practitioner

Louise Whittington

I trained as a Mature Student for 3 years at the College of Traditional Acupuncture and was awarded a Licentiate and First Class BA (Hons) Degree in Traditional Acupuncture from CTA in association with Oxford Brookes University.

I am a member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) which maintains standards of education, ethics and practice and which maintains strict Codes of Safety and Professional Conduct. Continuing Professional Development is also an ongoing annual requirement which I am constantly updating. I have attended post-graduate CPD training in treating Musculoskeletal pain, auricular (ear) acupuncture, Fertility, Electro-Acupuncture (for pain) Chinese Pulse Diagnosis and Moxibustion and have ongoing access to diagnostic clinics for patients with complex issues. I have recently completed a 2 year in-depth Post Graduate Programme with Niki Bilton who taught at the College of Traditional Acupuncture in Warwick and who continues to teach post-graduates 5 Element Acupuncture extensively in the UK and around the World.

I am fully insured to practise and also hold a First Aid certificate which is updated regularly.

I practise in Bussage, deep in the Cotswolds countryside but within easy access of surrounding areas such as Stroud, Birdlip, Chalford, Minchinhampton and Nailsworth, and have an ad hoc clinic in Cirencester if needed. I also still travel to Solihull for monthly, bi-monthly and seasonal clinic to see previous clients who preferred to stay with me when I moved from Solihull to Bussage in 2018.

Life experience

Having experienced for myself the all round health benefits of Acupuncture some years ago when I was suffering from work related stress and RSI, I was impressed by this ancient form of natural medicine and how it brought me back into balance and good health. I was so inspired by the changes it brought to my own health that I committed to study for the 3 year BA (Hons) in Traditional Acupuncture at the College of Traditional Acupuncture in Warwickshire.

As well as transforming my health, acupuncture has transformed my life and I am now entirely focused on bringing the benefits of acupuncture to my patients – whether it is for pain relief or for feeling stressed, tired and not quite themselves. My patients gain many benefits from 5 Element Acupuncture and every patient receives treatment which is entirely unique to them, even when compared to another patient with the same health problem.

I have found that patient referrals are my greatest asset, and would only ask that in receiving benefit from acupuncture, you spread the word about its effectiveness and encourage more people to try it.

I am happy to offer a free 15 minute initial consultation either on the phone or at my clinic if you wish to find out more about me and 5 Element Acupuncture and how it can help you.
